"The title portrays the distance from the conflict zone, and the photographs appear to narrate a tale of partial normalcy. Yet, the depiction of normalcy becomes disquieting when the artist's camera captures recruitment posters or cemeteries of recently fallen heroes. The semblance of normalcy is merely superficial in a place where people's lives have been and continue to be profoundly touched, even from a significant distance, by the distressing effects of war."
